Each month we shine a spotlight on a member of the Free Spirits community.
This month we’re featuring Tejas Kotecha who’s taking the pressure and panic out of workplace communication by helping professionals speak with confidence and making sure every voice in the room actually gets heard.

After 20 years across Sky News and Sky Sports, Tejas left to start his own communication skills training business. He works with a videographer on his one-day workshops so they can test your skills under pressure and also film the day. His key ambition is making people great communicators so they progress in their careers and beyond.
You’ve stepped into a lift and someone asks what you do. You’ve got five floors before the doors open, what do you say?
Presentation anxiety costs careers, and unheard voices cost teams.
I fix both through CPD-accredited workshops that turn stressed professionals into confident, standout communicators.
My Trolley Car Inclusion Framework helps teams ensure every voice is heard and every hard decision is made fairly. Avoid those dull meetings where people aren’t interested. Including everyone saves time and leads to better decisions.
Communication is under-estimated and my favourite phrase is: Communicate beautifully. Watch the doors open in front of you.
What challenge do your clients most often bring to you, and how do you help sort it out?
There are mainly two challenges.
One is public speaking or delivering presentations that people listen to. Many employees spend their lives stressing about it. Having worked with Sky reporters and presenters, I bring the “broadcasting secrets” to ensure your speaking is impactful. Great communicators progress further in their careers and get more opportunities.
Second is how their teams communicate with each other and their leaders. Better communication brings fewer mistakes, less staff turnover, and better collaboration across departments. All improve ROI and make the workplace much better!
Using my Trolley Car Problem as a diagnostic tool, we work out the communication challenges your teams face, and then fix them together. It’s the exercise people remember many months later.
What are you currently building, experimenting with, or hoping to do more of this year?
I am excited to almost finish my Trolley Car Inclusion Framework based on the famous ethical dilemma.
Forget the philosophy. I run the scenario with your team to analyse their communication. What worked? What didn’t? How do you compare to other teams? Who felt comfortable contributing? Who didn’t? And what is the best way for your team to make the best decisions?
This is my signature workshop and it brings up different outcomes each time, which is why it’s both fun and transformational. You’ll never run team meetings in the same way again.
