For more than 25 years, I’ve worked across L&D, Talent, Learning Technology and EdTech—helping teams design better learning, measure impact and communicate the value of their work. I’ve experienced this industry from every angle: in-house and vendor, corporate and consultancy, UK and US. And I’ve lived the pressure so many learning and product teams face: prove the value, demonstrate the impact, stand out in a crowded market.

Over the past five years, I’ve specialised in awards and recognition—because when done well, awards do far more than celebrate success. They shine a light on impact, strengthen credibility, build confidence, attract talent, and help organisations benchmark against the best. They also advance our industry as a whole; every story shared contributes to collective learning and innovation.

Along the way, I’ve written more than 90 award-winning submissions (over 80 Gold), supported teams to record-breaking results, and developed a 99% success rate. I’ve also gained behind-the-scenes insight as a judge and category chair for several leading programmes, participating only where no conflict exists. These experiences have shown me exactly what distinguishes a good submission from a great one—and what judges truly look for.

I founded Rooftop Recognition to bring this expertise to L&D, Talent, Learning Technology and EdTech teams who want to communicate their impact more strategically. Today, I help organisations plan for recognition, build sustainable award systems, and tell their stories with clarity, evidence and confidence.
