Bookkeeping Basics for UK Sole Traders

Date: 19/05/2026
12:00pm (1 hour)

Running your own business means wearing a lot of hats.

Bookkeeping is often the one that gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

Not because you don’t care about your numbers, but because no one ever really showed you how to do it properly.

This interactive webinar is designed for UK Sole Traders who want to understand the basics of Bookkeeping, feel more confident managing their records, and avoid the common mistakes that cause stress at tax time.

Depending on the needs of the group, we may also touch on Making Tax Digital for Income Tax and what it means for Sole Traders in the coming years.

Because every business is different, this session is designed to be interactive and shaped around the people in the room. You’ll have the chance to share where you’re getting stuck, ask questions, and help steer the conversation so the session focuses on what will actually help you.

Make the session work for you

This isn’t a generic webinar. We’re shaping the session around your questions, challenges, and real-life situations.

Please take two minutes to complete this questionnaire so we can focus on what will actually help you, not just what we think you need.

What you’ll get out of this session:

  • What records sole traders need to keep
  • Common bookkeeping mistakes and how to avoid them
  • The difference between spreadsheets and bookkeeping software
  • What expenses you can claim
  • Simple habits that make bookkeeping much easier

Whether you are brand new to running a business or have been avoiding your books for longer than you’d like to admit, this session will help you feel more confident and clear about what to do next.

Come along, ask questions, and leave with practical knowledge you can use in your business.
